Redbird Softball Releases 2018 Summer Clinic Dates

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State softball team will host four camps during the month of June, beginning June 5 and ending June 19. All camps will be held at the Redbirds' home facility, Marian Kneer Stadium, on Illinois State's campus.

All-Purpose Day Camp | Tuesday, June 5 | 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. | Entering grades 2-6 | $100

The all-purpose day camp is designed for softball players that want to learn everything about the game. Specifically designed for girls entering 2nd through 6th grade, this clinic will provide each player with a unique experience and no previous softball experience is required. Participants will leave with the chance to improve their softball skills, as individual attention will be emphasized in all phases of the game in a fun and challenging environment.

"The Next Level" Camp | Tuesday, June 12 | 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Entering grades 9-12 | $140

The Next Level camp is designed for the serious player, especially those desiring to play at the next level. Instruction will include the following: hitting fundamentals and strategies, advance fundamentals and specific position breakdowns, game play and strategies and a weight room orientation. Registration is set at $140 and includes instruction and demonstration by the ISU softball coaching staff, along with current and former players, as well as lunch, parking, insurance and a camp t-shirt.

Hitting Clinic | Tuesday, June 19 | 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Entering grades 9-12 | $140

The hitting clinic will be limited to 30 participants and players will have the opportunity to develop and execute the fundamentals of hitting all pitch locations, as well as how to make adjustments during a ball game. Registration is set at $140 and includes instruction, insurance, parking and an ISU Redbird Softball t-shirt. Interested campers should register by June 12.

Pitching Clinic | Tuesday, June 19 | 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. | Entering grades 9-12 | $140

The pitching clinic is limited to 20 participants and players must bring a catcher with them. Players will learn and develop the four basic pitches (rise, drop, curve and change), as well as pitching strategies and different pitching techniques. Clinic instruction will consist of intermediate and advanced skills in the circle. Registration is set at $140, which includes instruction, insurance, parking and an ISU Redbird Softball t-shirt. Interested campers should register by June 12.
