NORMAL, Ill. – Brent Headrick is starting off strong to begin his summer campaign in the Northwoods League.
Headrick has been red-hot as a member of the Wisconsin Woodchucks. He has started two games with a record of 1-0 while posting an amazing 0.77 ERA. He has thrown 11.2 innings giving up six hits, striking out 17 while walking just five.
Headrick has thrown both games against the Kenosha Kingfish. The first coming on June 2nd where he went six innings giving up one unearned run, scattering three hits, striking out ten while giving up one free pass. On June 8th he went five and two-thirds innings, giving up one run on three hits while fanning seven batters and walking four.
The ISU junior was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Defensive Team in 2018. Headrick, from Custer Park, Illinois, had no errors in 18 chances in the field during the season. On the mound he finished with a 4-6 record with 56 strikeouts in 68.2 innings of work. Opponents batted .284 against him as he also led the team with two pick-offs.
