Biography

2018 (Junior Year): One of two players to start all 52 games. Played every game at short stop … earned All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team … Named First Team All-Region and Third Team All-American by ABCA/Rawlings … named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week (5/14) … slashed .384/.433/.537 with the team’s top batting average and a team-leading 88 hits which is the most in any season for a Redbird … ranked second in the MVC in batting average and third in hits … Ranked 20 nationally in batting average, 17 in hits, and sixth in hits per game (1.69) … posted a .973 fielding percentage … shared a team and career-best 17-game hitting streak (4/7 to 5/2) … led team with 26 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games … scored a career-high four runs at Morehead State in back-to-back games (3/2 and 3/3) … Had a career day against Valparaiso (5/13) going 5-for-5 hitting for the cycle driving home one run and scoring three times … named to the MVC honor roll ... selected in the third round of the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft, by the San Diego Padres with the 84th overall pick in the draft.

2017 (Sophomore Year): Appeared and started all 56 games, the only Redbird to do so … earned All-Missouri Valley Conference Second-Team honors … slashed .325/.351/.498 with the team’s top batting average, slugging percentage and a team-leading 81 hits … also led the team with 36 runs scored and 48 RBIs … his 28 extra-base hits led the squad, as did his individual totals of 19 doubles and six home runs … shared the team lead with six sacrifice flies … ranked second in the MVC in hits, fourth in doubles and eighth in batting average … posted a .972 fielding percentage as Illinois State’s everyday shortstop, committing five fewer errors than in his freshman season … posted a career-best 13-game hitting streak (4/19 to 5/12), the team’s longest of the season … will carry an eight-game hitting streak into the 2018 season … led team with 26 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games … his 81 hits are tied for the second-highest single-season total in Illinois State history … his 249 at-bats rank as the second-most single-season at-bats in school history … homered and drove in three runs in Illinois State’s season opener against Indiana State (2/17) … matched a career high with four hits at Xavier (3/25) … drove in four runs on three separate occasions … scored a career-high three runs at Western Kentucky (3/12) … hit safely in all five of Illinois State’s games at the MVC Tournament … named an MVC Scholar-Athlete First-Team selection … named to the MVC and AFNI honor rolls.

2016 (Freshman Year): Appeared and started all 54 games, as one of only two Redbirds to play in every game … named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team by Collegiate Baseball … named to the Baseball America Freshman All-America Second Team … earned All-MVC Honorable Mention honors … slashed .328/.368/.498 with 23 doubles, five home runs, 44 RBIs and 117 total bases … led Illinois State in batting average, slugging percentage, hits, doubles, RBIs and total bases … tallied 235 at-bats, leading the team and ranking third in Illinois State single-season history … his 23 doubles also ranked as the second-most in Illinois State single-season history … led the conference in doubles … ranked fourth in the conference in hits and seventh in batting average … made collegiate debut at Belmont (2/19), registering his first career hit … tallied first career home run against Central Michigan (3/12) … homered twice against Butler (3/12) … tallied three home runs on one day, in games against Central Michigan and Butler (3/12) … doubled twice in five games … collected a career-high four hits on four occasions … tallied a career-high five RBIs at Evansville (5/1) … scored the game-winning run against Bradley (5/8) in a walk-off win … tallied 24 multi-hit games, including nine games with three or more hits … finished the season on a 10-game hit streak … named to the MVC and AFNI honor rolls … earned the MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award.

Ozaukee HS: Competed as a member of the baseball, football and basketball teams … was a first-team all-conference selection in basketball his junior and senior years, and second-team all-conference as a sophomore … broke school’s scoring record, with 1,115 career points … named baseball team’s most valuable player, and a second-team all-conference selection, as a freshman … did not play high school baseball after freshman season … active in travel baseball, with the Chicago Scouts Association … graduated with high honors … member of National Honor Society.
