Junior Year (2015-16)

Named the 2016 recipient of the DeDe Woytowych Endowed Scholarship … earned All-Missouri Valley Conference status … broke the school record and took second place in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.34) at the MVC Championships … posted a personal-best time and placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (55.78) at the MVC Championships … captured a personal-best test in the 200-yard IM (2:08.08) at the Louisville Invite.

Sophomore Year (2014-15)

Broke the school record in the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.31) at the Zippy Invitational, earning a new personal-best time … member of the record-breaking 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished second (3:45.59) at the MVC Championships … finished third in the 100-yard backstroke at the MVC Championships (56.54) … earned All-MVC honors … leading off the 400-yard medley relay at the MVC Championships, Root earned a personal-best time in the 100-yard backstroke (56.42) … swam a personal-best time at the Zippy Invitational in the 200-yard IM (2:09.50) … finished second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.62) and third in 100-yard backstroke (58.43) at the Butler Invitational.

Freshman Year (2013-14)

Swam a season-best time in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.62), placing 10th at the MVC Championships … led off the 400-yard medley relay team, achieving her personal-best time (57.51) in the 100-yard backstroke at the Zippy Invitational … set a new personal best in the 400-yard IM (4:42.67) at the Zippy Invite.
