Crampton Dismissed from Redbird Football Team

After obtaining further information about the recent situation involving redshirt freshman Ross Crampton, head coach Denver Johnston dismissed him from the Illinois State University football team Tuesday afternoon. Crampton had been suspended earlier for violating team rules. After gaining more complete knowledge of the situation, I have dismissed Ross Crampton from the Redbird football team, said Johnson. This dismissal is permanent. Crampton was the 2002 Catholic Metropolitan-Red Conference Most Valuable Player while attending Joliet Catholic Academy. A graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy, Crampton was the 2002 Catholic Metropolitan-Red Conference Most Valuable Player. He was a redshirt linebacker for the Redbirds in 2003.
