Our History: 
The Illinois State University Cheerleading Team has a rich and vibrant history that spans several decades. Established in 1900, our team has evolved into a symbol of enthusiasm, talent, and school pride. We take great pride in our deep-rooted traditions and the strong sense of camaraderie that unites us as Redbirds. Over the years, our squad has consistently brought energy and excitement to countless athletic events, engaging with fans, and supporting our university's sports teams. Comprised of two squads, Quad and Coed, our team continues to grow with rich talent and a love for our Redbird community. Our journey is a testament to the hard work, passion, and dedication of our members, both past and present.

Our Culture: 
At Illinois State University Cheerleading Team, we are more than just a group of spirited athletes. We are a close-knit family that fosters a culture of inclusivity, respect, and continuous improvement. Through rigorous training and practice, we aim to achieve the highest levels of skill and performance. Our team members are not only exceptional cheerleaders but also ambassadors of sportsmanship and school spirit. We believe in supporting each other's personal growth, pushing boundaries, and embracing diversity. Our vibrant and energetic performances ignite the crowd, inspiring pride and unity among the Illinois State University community.

Team Mission Statement: 
Our mission is to elevate school spirit, promote excellence in athleticism, and exemplify unwavering support for Illinois State University. Through our performances, community engagement, and positive representation, we aim to create an unforgettable game-day experience for fans and athletes alike. We strive to uphold the values of sportsmanship, integrity, and dedication in every aspect of our journey. As the Illinois State University Cheerleading Team, we are committed to leaving a lasting impact on our university and community while fostering a sense of belonging among our members.

Athlete Mission Statement:
It is our mission to uphold the pride, tradition, and respect of Illinois State University through the unification of the student body, alumni, fans, and community. We will support the program with honor and dignity by promoting a positive game-day atmosphere to the best of our ability. We will strive to provide a rewarding, fun, and memorable university involvement experience, centering around service, skill and character development, innovation, respect, safety and transparency. Our mission is to drive the energy and engagement of the fan experience by promoting and enhancing community and athletic events, with an emphasis on football, volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball.

Coach Mission Statement:
It is our mission to instill tradition, honor, commitment, and pride in our teams, each other, and the University. We will build a solid foundation based on trust and loyalty. We will work to be organized, consistent and supportive to make this an exemplary cheer program that enhances the collegiate experience and develops future skills. We will accomplish these missions by hard work, dedication, and support; guided by what the university needs, within the resources of the program, in the best interest of the athlete.
