MARIBOR, Slovenia - Friday was one of our best days in Europe yet! Staying at the foot of a giant ski hill in the beautiful town of Maribor, we rode about half way up the hill to do some team building and take on the ropes course.
Upon arriving, the view was spectacular! The hill overlooked the entire city, including the mountains in the distance. Our first task was to one bz one climb a 30 foot pole about a foot wide. Strapped to a bungee, we had to climb to the top and stand up on this tiny platform, turn around and jump off. Everyone conquered the pole! It took some people longer than others; take Peggy and M.C. for example. Peggy stood in the same position at the top of the pole for about thirty minutes, and M.C. fell when she reached the top and dangled there, trying to swing herself back to the pole. I'm not gonna lie, that was one of the funniest moments of the day. But all that matters is everyone did it!
Next we got to trz this swing thing; I don't know what the name of it is. Each player got strapped onto this harness which is attached to this long rope. Then M.C. would yell "mush" and the team would pull this rope that pulled the harnessed person back. Then, the one plazer would poll this string and drop, and swing back and forth. It was the coolest thing ever! Sorry if my explanation was a little confusing!
After that we had to pair up and clim this ladder with logs that were five feet apart from one another. We had five minutes, each other, and a small rope to help us get as high as we could. The play of the day was Erin lifting Kasey up with only her leg. Those squats were a big help there; thanks Rhork!
Finally, we ate some lunch and took some tobaggans down the huge hill! They had brakes and were on a track, but man those things could fly! Then, extremely tired, both mentally and physically, we were all treated to an afternoon at the spa at the top of the mountain! What an amazing day!
Thanks again for your support of our trip and Redbird volleyball!
