NORMAL, Ill. -
Illinois State head athletic trainer John Munn announced the recent hiring of the new primary volleyball trainer Kelly Haley to the athletic training staff. Haley will round out the current staff and join assistant athletic trainers Joe Whitson and Karri Miller.
A National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) certified trainer, Haley recently completed her masters degree in sports management from Florida State. While at FSU (2005-07), Haley was a graduate athletic training assistant for the cross country and track and field teams. During her stint, she worked with the two-time NCAA men's track and field championship team as well as with the Seminoles' nationally ranked women's track and field team.
The Manhattan, Ill., native received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Western Illinois in 2004. After graduation, Haley gained experience working in Orlando, Fla., at Walt Disney World covering events as well as working with the Southlake Hospital Outreach Developmental Soccer League from 2004-05.
Haley is happy to be closer to home and at Illinois State.
"I am excited to be back in Illinois and I really enjoy coming to work everyday," said Haley. "Everyone here has been extremely friendly and open, it really make the transition easy."
