ST. LOUIS - One day after three of his teammates garnered All-Missouri Valley Conference recognition, junior guard Emmanuel Holloway secured another individual honor for the Illinois State men's basketball team, as he was named to the league's "All-Bench Team," as announced by the conference office Wednesday. The team was voted on by the league's newspaper beat writers.

Holloway joins Creighton forward Booker Woodfox and Bluejays' guard Cavel Witter, along with Missouri State forward Chris Cooks and Indiana State freshman forward Isiah Martin. Woodfox was named the All-Bench team captain.

Holloway has appeared in all 30 games this season, recording seven starts. The Cartersville, Ga., native has started each of the past five games in place of Dom Johnson, who underwent a tonsillectomy Feb. 21, and is out indefinitely. In those five games, Holloway is averaging 8.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game while shooting nearly 41 percent (.406) from the field.

Against visiting Wright State in the O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters game (Feb. 24), Holloway recorded career-highs in points (16), rebounds (five), assists (four) and minutes played (34). He was 6-of-9 from the field with two three-pointers in the 54-46 Illinois State win.

Holloway has recorded six total double-digit scoring efforts, while also contributing 10 points apiece against Southeast Missouri State (Nov. 14, 2007), at Eastern Michigan (Dec. 4), at Wichita State (Jan. 1, 2008) at Bradley (Jan. 23) and at Evansville (Feb. 20).

Holloway signed at Illinois State last April after a two-year stint at Iowa Western Junior College. Last season, he averaged a team-best 15.2 points per game to go along with 3.7 rebounds per contest, and led IWJC to a 27-7 record.
