After posting double-digit scoring efforts in all three of Illinois State's State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament games, sophomore guard Osiris Eldridge was named to the all-tournament team at the conclusion of Sunday's championship game against top-seeded Drake. Eldridge led the Redbirds in scoring in both the semifinals and the championship contest.
In Friday's 63-58 win over Missouri State in the quarterfinals, Eldridge was one of four Redbirds in double-figures, chipping in 13 points to go along with a team-high seven rebounds. In Saturday's 56-42 win over sixth-seeded Northern Iowa in the semifinals, the Chicago native scored a team-high 13 points. He scored 14 points in ISU's 79-49 loss to the Bulldogs Sunday.
The two-time MVC Player of the Week has recorded 28 double-digit scoring outputs, including nine efforts with 20 or more points. In the past week, Eldridge has been named First-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference, and was tabbed a National Basketball Coaches Association (NBCA) District 11 second-team honoree. Eldridge earned MVC Freshman of the Year honors last season.
