Illinois State Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations Todd Kober announced Friday the hiring of Alison Haake, Lauren Hutchcraft and Megan Thompson as graduate assistants in the Redbird Athletics Media Relations Office. Each of the three graduate assistants has started in their new role.
Haake, who earned her bachelor's degree from Illinois State in public relations a couple of weeks ago, will serve as the primary media contact for Redbird women's soccer and softball. Haake, a native of Nashville, Ill., worked as a student assistant in the office last year and oversaw the publication and promotion efforts of the ISU women's tennis team.
Hutchcraft continues her professional career in the ISU Athletics Media Relations Office after working two years as a student assistant. As a student, Hutchcraft worked with both the ISU gymnastics and women's golf teams. The Gibson City, Ill., product is a recent graduate of Illinois State, attaining her bachelor's degree in communication studies in May. Hutchcraft will work with the Redbird cross country and track and field teams during her graduate assistant career.
Thompson, a two-year letterwinner on the ISU track and field team, earned her bachelor's degree in public relations from Illinois State in May. She is entering her first year with the ISU Athletics Media Relations and will work extensively with the department's social media campaign, as well as other new technology initiatives. Thompson is from Joliet, Ill.
"I'm thrilled to have Alison, Lauren and Megan each joining the staff," said Kober. "Each of them brings a wealth of talent and I'm looking forward to seeing how the office advances over the next two years with each of their contributions."
