NORMAL, Ill. - After a great day last season, Illinois State baseball welcomes The Miracle League of Central Illinois back to campus on Sunday, April 14, when the Redbirds play Morehead State on Miracle League Day. The first pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
Prior to the start of the ISU game, The Miracle League will hold its own game at Marian Kneer Softball Stadium. Volunteers will accompany Miracle League players, as their “buddies,” during their game scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
“The Miracle League of Central Illinois is ecstatic about its involvement with ISU baseball. Any time we get the chance to spread the word about this great organization, we are more than delighted,” CEO and Founder Bill Wright said. “Our young players are extremely thrilled to be able to play with these great ball players. We look forward to continued exposure about our organization and hope to see many fans out at the game.”

Head Coach Mark Kingston knows the ISU players love to give back to the community.
“Our team is excited to partner with The Miracle League,” explained Kingston. “This is a great organization and our players love having a positive impact on the youth in our community.”
The Miracle League of Central Illinois provides physically and mentally challenged children a safe and spirited program in which they can play on a baseball field just like other kids. Miracle League baseball offers a unique and memorable opportunity physically and mentally challenged children would not otherwise have. Every player has the opportunity to run the bases, score and win at every Miracle League game.
Admission to Duffy Bass Field for all Illinois State baseball games are free for the 2013 season.
