TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands – Illinois State senior forward John Jones is representing his home country – Barbados – in the 2014 Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championships, July 1 through July 5.
A St. Michael, Barbados native, Jones is one of 12 men playing for Barbados in the CBC Championships. He is joined by fellow-U.S. student-athlete Kregg Jones, a redshirt senior at Cal State Bakersfield.
During his junior season at Illinois State in 2013-14, Jones shot 50 percent from the field (50-for-100) while averaging 5.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, including 1.5 offensive boards per contest in 23 games with 13 starts.
Despite missing 11 games with a broken foot sustained Jan. 25, Jones bounced back to match a career-high with 12 points plus four rebounds in ISU's College Basketball Invitational (CBI) quarterfinal win over Texas A&M (March 24).
