ST. LOUIS – Illinois State's Courtney Pence was named to the all-tournament team at the conclusion of the Marcia E. Hamilton Classic Saturday night.
Pence, a junior libero, tallied 79 digs (7.18 per set) over three matches at the Hamilton Classic. She also chipped in 13 assists and two aces. Her best performance came in Illinois State's loss to Kennesaw State Saturday morning, as she tallied 36 digs, tied for the sixth most in Illinois State single-match history.
Pence was joined on the all-tournament team by: Camila Rivas (Saint Louis), Katarina Morton (Kennesaw State), Kristi Piedimonte (Kennesaw State), Haley DeSales (UC Irvine), Idara Akpakpa (UC Irvine) and Tournament Most Outstanding Player Harlee Kekauoha (UC Irvine).
Illinois State returns home to host their first matches of 2017 next weekend. Illinois State will host the Redbird Classic, welcoming Cincinnati, Dayton and Seton Hall for a round-robin tournament at Redbird Arena. A full schedule of matches can be found at GoRedbirds.com.
