Men's Golf Finish Fall Season in Little Rock, Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, Ark – Men's Golf travels to Little Rock, Arkansas to compete in the 2018 Little Rock Invitational. This is the Redbird's last tournament in the fall 2018 season. 

Event: Little Rock Invitational 

When: Monday, October 22 and Tuesday, October 23 

Where: Chenal Country Club 

Par: 72 

Yardage: 7,326

Format: This tournament is a 54-hole event. Each team will play 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday 

Competing Teams: Little Rock, Abilene Christian, Arizona, Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Miami, Missouri State, Seattle, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, ULM, UNLV, UT Arlington 

Redbird Lineup: David Perkins, Trent Wallace, Joel Durnford, David Rauer, Daniel Anfield

Starting Holes: Shotgun start both days at 8:15 a.m. 

History at the Event: This will be the Illinois State's second appearance at the Little Rock Invitational. Last year, the Redbirds finish in second place out of 10 teams. Senior Trent Wallace won first place individually last year at this tournament with a score of 210 (71-68-71). 

About the Course: Ever since it was made, the Chenal Country Club golf courses were some of the most prestigious courses in the nation. The course was created by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who is known for making some of the best courses in the world. There are two golf courses: the Founders Course and the Bear Den Course. Both courses have rolling, wooded terrains. 

Last Time Out: The Redbirds last outing was at the Dayton Flyers Invitational in Kettering, Ohio, where they tied for second place with host Dayton out of 12 teams. Junior Joel Durnford earned medalist honors after he scored a tournament-best three-under par 210. Illinois State started the first half of the first round in last place only to comeback and finish five strokes behind first place Davidson 

Next Time Out: The next tournament tee off for Illinois State will be on February 11, 2019 at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in Mobile, Alabama.
