ST. LOUIS – Illinois State softball's Mack Leonard is one of 10 student-athletes named as a State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award recipient for the Spring of 2020 by Commissioner Doug Elgin, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The standout utility player carries an impressive 3.91 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) in the classroom as an exercise science major. Leonard earned a spot on the MVC Honor Roll during the 2018-19 school year and has been placed on Illinois State's AFNI Honor Roll three times.
In addition to her academic achievements, Leonard has continued to make a difference in her hometown of Normal and the surrounding area, as well as Illinois State's campus. Some of her notable volunteer work includes:

- 100 Caring Adults
- Humane Society
- Eisenhower Elementary School Visits
- Illinois State Curb Birds Move-In Crew
- Calvary Baptist Church
- Operation Christmas Child
- Volunteer Notetaker at Illinois State
In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition. The Valley will recognize 10 student-athletes three times annually (fall, winter, spring), for a total of 30 honorees. Institutions select their State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award honorees.
