NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State volleyball team (3-3, 1-1 MVC) will look to jump back in the win column this weekend, when it travels to Terre Haute, Indiana, to face the Indiana State Sycamores (1-2, 1-1 MVC). The Redbirds and the Sycamores will square off on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT, before wrapping up the two-match trip at 3 p.m. CT on Monday.

SUCCESS AGAINST THE SYCAMORES
It will be a battle between ISU's this weekend in a pair of matches at ISU Arena. The Redbirds hold a commanding 65-8 series advantage against the Sycamores, with all eight of Illinois State's losses happening on the road. Illinois State has won 12-straight outings against the Sycamores, and 14 of its last 15 with the most recent setback occurring in 2013.
SIGNATURE SERVING
The Redbirds have carried on their tradition of staying aggressive behind the service line, ranking 17th in the country in aces per set (2.05) with 43 team aces on the season. Sophomore Sarah Kushner (10) is leading the ISU charge, while Carley Nicholson (9) and Kaity Weimerskirch (8) follow closely behind. Every Redbird server this season has at least one ace on their stat line.
REDBIRDS RECEIVING VOTES IN AVCA POLL
Illinois State is receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll for the second-straight week, which was announced by the organization on Feb. 1. This is the third time the Redbirds have been mentioned in the poll since fourth-year head coach Leah Johnson took the reins in 2017.
Illinois State has made 15 appearances in the AVCA's top 25 in program history – once in 2019, 12 times in 1984 and twice in 1983 – the first year the poll was published.                     Â
