NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State football team will look to bounce back from a disappointing season-opening loss to South Dakota last weekend when they travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to take on the No. 3 ranked Northern Iowa Panthers. ISU head coach Brock Spack will talk about last week's game against the Coyotes and preview the matchup with UNI Thursday night at The Brock Spack Show, presented by Bud Light, live from Schooners in Bloomington beginning at 6 p.m.
The Redbirds (0-1), ranked No. 15 in the latest Stats Perform FCS Top 25 poll, will play the Panthers (1-1) in Cedar Falls for the first time since 2014. Northern Iowa won last year's matchup against the Redbirds at Hancock Stadium and have won the last two games against Illinois State overall.
Coach Spack will join Craig Bertsche and co-host Ted Schmitz to talk about the team's work to prepare for the Panthers and they will be joined on the phone by this week's player guest, junior wide receiver Austin Nagel.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington and sits just off the corner of Grove Street and Clinton Boulevard. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities and streamed live on GoRedbirds.com. Fans can also listen to the show via the TuneIn app by searching "Illinois St. Redbirds Sports Network" and watch live on the Illinois State Athletics Facebook page.
All patrons planning to attend the show in person will be asked to abide by all safety guidelines set by Schooners, the town of Bloomington and the State of Illinois.
