VALPARAISO, Ind. – The Illinois State volleyball team took down Valparaiso in a three-set sweep at the ARC on Friday, as the Redbirds continue a four-match road trip in 2023 MVC play.
Individually, graduate student Bella Zeman led the way for the Redbirds in kills with 12 while sophomore Hannah Reichensperger added nine of her own.
Sophomore Emily Weber recorded her 10th straight match with 20+ assists as the sophomore collected a team-high 30 assists Friday.
Illinois State improves to 5-12 overall and 3-2 in the MVC while Valparaiso drops to 10-9 overall and 2-4 in the MVC.

- Sophomore Emily Weber recorded 30 assists Friday night, moving her ISU career total to 994. The Fishers, Ind. native will look to become the 18th all-time Redbird to eclipse 1,000 career assists when ISU travels to UIC on Saturday.
- Kara Cooper recorded seven kills and four blocks in her return to the ARC after spending four seasons as a member of the Beacons.
