NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State graduate guard Mary Crompton and junior forward Kate Bullman have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, as announced by the organization Tuesday morning.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
The duo are two of 14 student-athletes named to the prestigious list from the Missouri Valley Conference. Now, the Grayslake, Ill. and Iowa City, Iowa-natives advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot to be announced in mid-March.
Back in November, Crompton became the program record holder for career three-pointers as she hit no. 230 in her career, passing former ISU All-American Kristi Cirone's mark of 229. A month later, the Iowa City native set another career milestone, becoming the 30th Illinois State women's basketball student-athlete, and second under Kristen Gillespie, to eclipse 1,000 career points as a Redbird.
The sharpshooter is averaging 11.5 points per game during the 2022-23 campaign and is currently ranked third all-time in MVC history in career triples with 286.
Meanwhile, for Bullman, she became the fourth Redbird women's basketball with 100 career blocks at UIC, as the Grayslake native presently sits with 114 career blocks. Bullman would also go for a career-night on the road at Southern Illinois on Jan. 7, as she gathered 14 rebounds (9 offensive) to set a career-high in the category as part of ISU's 59-56 win in Carbondale.
Bullman is averaging 7.0 points to go along with 6.3 rebounds per game while averaging 28.2 minutes for the Redbirds in 2022-23.
Crompton currently maintains a 4.0 grade-point average while pursuing her master's degree in Biological Studies. She received her bachelor's degree in just three years, with a 4.0 GPA while earning a degree in Physiology, Neuroscience and Behavior, and adding a minor in Chemistry.
Bullman currently maintains a 3.89 grade-point average while pursuing her a degree in Psychology.
