NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State has been selected to host the host the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Softball Championship from May 8-11 at Marian Kneer Stadium, as announced by the league office on Friday.
This will be the seventh time the Redbirds will serve as host to the MVC Softball Championship and the first since 2017, when they last hosted the league championship on their home field. The tournament will feature all 12 teams and will be played in a single-elimination format played over the four days. Seeds 5-12 will play opening-round games on Wednesday, May 8, and the top four teams will receive a bye and play the winners of the opening-round games on Thursday, May 9.
Eight different MVC institutions have been selected to host at least one championship during the 2023-24 academic year, while two spring championship sites (baseball and tennis) are yet to be determined. The Conference will provide television coverage for 13 of the league's 17 championships, including the 2024 MVC Softball Championship from Normal.
