NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State cross country program has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2025 season. The schedule features five regular season meets, including one home meet, before the Redbirds open postseason competition at the MVC Championships.
To open the season, the Redbirds will travel to Champaign, Illinois, on Friday, August 29, for the Fighting Illini Open at 11 a.m. Following a weekend off, Illinois State will return home to host the Redbird Invite, slated for Friday, September 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Weibring Golf Club. The Illinois State women and men have both won the Redbird Invite the past two years.
The Redbirds will then travel to Columbia, Missouri, for the Gans Creek Classic on Friday, September 26, at 9 a.m. Illinois State will close out its regular season slate at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, October 17, at noon in Peoria, Illinois.
The Evansville Purple Aces are set to host the 2025 MVC Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 31, beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT. Two weeks later on Friday, November 14, the NCAA Midwest Regional will take place in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Student-athletes who qualify will advance to the NCAA Championships hosted by Mizzou on Saturday, November 22.
