The Illinois State womens golf team completed the three-day Lady Northern hosted by Minnesota with a final score of 985 (335-321-329), placing them in 16th place of the 16 team field.
Nicole Foy led the way for the Birds with a final score of 233 (82-77-74), placing her at a tie with two other players for 28th place. Jill Rachford shot a third-round score of 87 to give her a three-day total of 245 (81-77-87) and landing her a tie for 69th place.
Kim Pokarney followed with a combined score of 254 (88-82-84), landing her at 89th place in the tournament, while Becky Brtva finished two strokes behind Pokarney with a total 256 (86-85-85), placing her in the 91st slot.
Ohio State led the pack with a score of 896 (310-298-288), while Mollie Fankhauser of Ohio State held her three day, first place position to take the individual championship with a score of 218 (73-72-73). Host school Minnesota moved up one spot and posted a third place finish with a score of 908 (312-302-294).
The Redbirds will swing into action again at the Notre Dame Invite October 14-15.
