Illinois State quarterback Dusty Burk has been honored as the Gateway Football Conferences Rawlings Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Redbirds 21-0 win at Indiana State, Saturday.
In his first start of the season, the sophomore completed 16-of-27 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns. The scoring strikes came twice from 29 yards and again from 31.
Burk also rushed eight times for 30 yards in the game to account for 340 of Illinois States 443 total yards.
This week, Burk, a Tuscola product, and his teammates will be at home to host Prairie View A&M in a non-conference game. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. The game is part of the NCAAs Take a Kid to the Game promotion. Anyone under the age of 18 will be admitted free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.
