ISU Diving Coach Elected to Chair Rules Committee

During the United States Aquatic Convention in Orlando, Florida on Oct. 11-14, Illinois State diving coach Drew Johansen was elected to the position of Chairman of the Rules Committee. Prior to being elected to this position, Johansen had attended the annual conference the previous six years as an athlete representative, a chair of the junior rules committee, and sat on the Board of Directors as an athlete representative. His new position also gave him a seat on the Board of Directors, but this time not just as an athlete representative. The Board of Directors is the governing body for United States diving. It conducts the business of US diving throughout the year. Johansens new job is a volunteer position. It will be his responsibility to interpret rules of US diving anytime there is a discrepancy or anytime anything is needed at any of the meets throughout the country. Johansen still plans to coach at Illinois State, and hopes his new position will bring national regonition for the ISU swimming and diving program.
