Steve Paska will look to a number of people to step up as the Illinois State swimming and diving team takes on Northern Illinois and Illinois in a double dual meet on Friday at 6 p.m. at Horton Pool.
The dual meet consists of 13 events, two relays, one individual medley, eight individual events, and two diving events.
In the individual swimming events the first-place finisher receives five points, the second-place finisher receives three points, and the third-place finisher receives one point. In the relay events only the first-place finishers receives points.
Illinois States last meet was the MVC Shoot-Out on Oct 14, which they placed fourth out of six teams. Paska used the week his team had off to get everyone in the right mindset to perform competitively and to tabulate what everyone needed to do to improve.
My main emphasis is trying to get each of these swimmers to understand the importance of swimming with confidence, said Paska.
