First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference middle blocker Kendra Haselhorst of Illinois State became the first player in 19-years of conference history to be listed among the league's top 12 players all four years.
The 6-foot-2 native of Aviston, Ill., was one of just two seniors on the 12-player First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference Team; the other is Evansville outside hitter Julie Groves.
Haselhorst leads the Valley in kills and is the league's all-time hitting percentage leader.
She was joined by teammates Becky Weber on the first team and Megan O'Connell on the second unit. Weber, a native of Huntley, Ill., leads the 'Birds in set assists and digs this season, while ranking among the league leaders in service aces. O'Connell is No. 2 on the Redbirds in kills (behind Haselhorst) and ranks among the league leaders in kills per game and service aces.
Weber was a second-team all-Valley choice in 1999 and O'Connell was on the league's all-freshman team. Conference champion Northern Iowa had four players on the first team, including the only two freshmen to make it: setter Jill Arganbright and middle blocker Molly O'Brien. They led the six-player all-newcomer team as well.
Valley Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and Freshman of the Year will be announced Saturday.
