Hoopers Play First Exhibition Thursday

Illinois State's men's basketball team plays its exhibition opener, Thursday, when the California All-Stars visit. Tip-off is 7:05 p.m., at Redbird Arena. This is a Family Night, which means a family of four can get game tickets, four Pepsi's and popcorn for just $20. This contest is also included on the season ticket package and season tickets are still available. The All-Stars, a collection of former college players, are 1-6 on their current tour. They lost at Notre Dame, Wednesday, but picked up their lone win Monday at Northwestern. Familiar names on the All-Stars' roster include Chad Austin (Purdue), Greg McQuay (Purdue), Willie Coleman (DePaul) and Courtney James (Minnesota). ISU head coach Tom Richardson said Monday that he might go with a starting line-up of Randy Rice, Tarise Bryson, Jason Hammock, Shedrick Ford and Rich Beyers, but later said that decision was still up in the air. Illinois State completes its exhibition slate, Wednesday, Nov. 15, when it hosts Lewis University.
