The game programs sold at each home Illinois State men's basketball game during the 1999-2000 season was voted as the top NCAA Division I basketball game publication in the country by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Monday.
The publication, which was designed and edited by ISU Athletics Media Relations graduate assistants Andy Knapick and Erica Fricke, ranked ahead of Minnesota, Kansas, Notre Dame and Ohio State, to round out the top five. Three separate issues of "This is Redbird Basketball" were submitted and judged based on five categories: team information, feature material, change pages, graphics and design and editorial.
The graduate staff of Knapick and Fricke also ranked No. 5 nationally for their Redbird football game program and placed first in the district.
