Some 1.2 million Pepsi cans carrying Illinois States home football schedule and ticket-purchasing information have hit the market throughout Central Illinois.
The cans, which can be found inside 12 and 24 packs, as well as in vending machines, also feature a return offer. Any first time season ticket-buyer bringing one of the special cans to the Redbird Arena ticket office will receive a free case of Pepsi with the purchase of at least one season ticket.
The cans, which also denote ISUs 1999 Gateway football championship and NCAA semi-finals appearance, are being distributed in Bloomington-Normal, Lincoln, Springfield, Peoria, Canton, LaSalle-Peru, Pontiac and Beardstown.
This promotion is being jointly sponsored by the Pepsi Cola General Bottlers in Morton and the Illinois State University Athletics Department.
