Illinois State head football coach Denver Johnson will be the featured speaker at the Redbird Football Kickoff Luncheon, Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Radisson Hotel in Bloomington.
Cost for the event, which is open to the public, is $10. The luncheon begins at noon and ends at 1 p.m.

Redbird football notes ... Johnson said Monday that two players are testing new positions. Safety Cedric Jackson, the fastest player on the team, has moved from safety to cornerback, while Alfred Corbin, who returned to interceptions for touchdowns last season, has moved from corner to safety ... Johnson said his team will go through a scrimmage during Wednesday afternoons workout. He expects the scrimmage to get underway at approximately 4 p.m., weather permitting, on the grass practice field north of Hancock Stadium.
