Pad McMeel, currently the associate sales manager at Walt Disney Sports Attractions in Orlando, Fla., has been named the director of annual giving and special events in Illinois States Athletics Department.
McMeel replaces David Kotarba, who resigned last month to accept a position with Human Kinetics in Champaign, Ill.
McMeel has been with Disney since September of 1998. Among his responsibilities was developing and initialing sales strategies for numerous events, including Atlanta Braves spring training, the Orlando Rays AA baseball team, the Harlem Globetrotters, the U.S. Mens Clay Court Tennis Championships and the National Car Rental PGA Golf Tournament.
Pad has the kind of personality and background that will allow him to hit the ground running with our program, said Todd Reeser, ISUs Director of Athletics Development. We also feel he has the creativity to conceive and launch new ideas that will benefit the donors and our department.
McMeel is a 1994 summa cum laude graduate of Central Michigan, where he majored in sports administration and community and park administration. He received his masters in sports administration from CMU in 1996.
