Davis Returns to Practice

Garry Davis, the transfer wide receiver from the University of Kentucky, returned to Illinois States football practices today, one week after breaking the fourth metacarpal on his left hand. Davis wore a thick pad during ISUs workout, but is no longer wearing a cast. The senior said he hopes to have his seven stitches removed Wednesday. Davis was positioning himself for a starting role prior to the injury, the first of his career. He said Tuesday that he still hopes to play in the Aug. 31 opener against West Virginia Tech.
