The Illinois State mens golf team is currently in ninth place of 12 teams after the first round in the Fairway Club Invitational at Firethorn Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb.
The Redbirds completed the first round of their season debut with a score of 613. Missouri is currently in first place with a score of 596, while Bryan Milberger of Kansas State leads individually with low score of 69.
The Birds were led by junior BJ Brown, who shot a low score of of 72, and sits at seventh place with a 147. Juniors Nic Baker and Dan Cerny both shot low scores of 75 and are in 23rd and 30th place.
The Redbirds will continue play in Lincoln, Neb., tomorrow with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
