Redbirds Travel to Lady Northern Invitational

The Illinois State womens golf team will be participating in the Lady Northern Invitational hosted by Minnesota at the University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Course September 29 - October 1. Tee times on the par 72 course begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and there will be a shotgun start on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. The three day tournament features 18 holes per day. Yardage for Les Bolstad Golf Course is 5,979 yards. The field includes Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, Kent State, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northern Iowa, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Ohio, Ohio State, Penn State, defending champion Purdue and Wisconsin. Six Redbirds will be participating in the tournament, while only four scores will count. Team leader Nicole Foy, along with Becky Brtva, Kim Pokarney, Sara Prack, Jill Rachford and Albiona Zhubi will swing into action Friday. The Birds competition includes some strong Big 10 teams, but Head Coach Ray Kralis is confident in the teams ability. I expect to see everyone stepping up and recognizing that weve got players here who can play with the tops of the field, Kralis said. Were playing six and counting four, but we need everyone to play well because theres not going to be any room for us to falter.
