Illinois State maintined its No. 5 ranking in this weeks Sports Network I-AA football poll. This marks the Redbirds 23rd consecutive week among I-AAs top 25.
Illinois State, which garnered three No. 1 votes, stayed in the No. 5 spot despite the fact that No. 4 Montana lost to Hofstra. Appalachian State, which defeated I-A Wake Forest, moved from No. 6 to No. 4.
Georgia Southern remained No. 1 despite a 29-7 loss at Georgia.
Other Gateway schools listed in the top 25 include Youngstown State at No. 7, Northern Iowa at No. 11 and Western Illinois at No. 25.
