The Illinois State mens golf team will compete in the Nebraska Fairway Club Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., at the Firethorn Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, September 11 and 12.
Participants include Drake, Iowa State, Kansas State, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina-Charlotte, Sam Houston State and Southwest Missouri State along with ISU and host school Nebraska.
The 54-hole tournament will begin with 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Tee times are at 8 a.m. on hole one and 8:30 a.m. on hole 10 both days. Par for the course is 71 with a total yardage of 6,762.
Illinois State head coach Harland Kilborn is optimistic about the upcoming competition and his team.
There will be 12 good solid teams, including some Big 12 teams, Missouri Valley competition and some out of district teams, Kilborn said. So far weve been qualifying good and the squad has been solid and steady.
Redbird veterans Nic Baker, Dave Klaas, BJ Brown and Dan Cerny are joined with newcomer Brian Anderson in this season debut.
