The Illinois State mens tennis team dropped its opening match of the season to 37th ranked Louisville Friday at Bass-Rudd tennis center.
First doubles team Ricky Heath and Yew Ming Si defeated Cody Conley and Brent McCombe, 9-8, for the only ISU victory.
Senior Albert Piasecki put up a fight and took Alex Sivertsen to three sets, with a final score of 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Illinois State will continue its season on Saturday afternoon, when the team travels to Western Kentucky University at 2 p.m.
