ISU Swimmers Win Double-Dual Meet

As a result of several first place finishes by Lindsay Crowder, Lindsay Verdoorn and the rest of the Redbird swimming team, Illinois State defeated Bradley 213-64 and St. Louis 212-64 Saturday night at Haussler Pool. Lindsay Crowder had four first-place finishes in Saturdays meet, the first coming in the 200 yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:54.10. Crowders second and third first-place finishes came in the 50 yard Freestyle and the 100 yard Butterfly. Her final victory came in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:43.98. Lindsay Verdoorn had two first-place finishes in the meet. Verdoorns first victory came in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:12.40. Her second came in the 200 yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:35.65. Tiffany Dudley was also a major contributor to the Redbirds success over Bradley and St. Louis. Dudley had one first-place finish in the 200 yard Backstroke (2:14.74), and two second-place finishes in the 100 yard Backstroke (1:03.50) and the 400 yard Individual Medley (4:49.78). DeDe Woytowych, Nicole DuCharme, Andrea Neubauer, Megan Yontz, Heather Norris, MaryAnne Cooper and Diana Cirstea each contributed to the Redbirds efforts against Bradley and St. Louis all posting one first-place finish. DeDe Woytowych obtained her first-place finish in the 1000 yard Freestyle (10:52.71), while DuCharme claimed her victory in the 200 yard Freestyle (2:01.56). Andrea Neubauer received her first-place finish in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 1:03.12, and was second in the 100 yard Freestyle (58.61) to Redbird teammate Megan Yontz. Yontz was first in the 100 yard Freestyle with a time of 55.91. Heather Norris and Diana Cirstea each had a first and second place finish in Saturdays meet. Norriss victory came in the 200 yard Butterly (2:14.75), while Cirstea claimed her victory in the 400 Individual Medley (4:46.40). Norriss claimed her second-place finish in the 100 yard Butterfly (1:03.23), while Cirstea obtained her second-place finish in the 200 yard Butterly (2:17.21). MaryAnne Cooper won the 500 yard Freestyle and took second in the 1000 yard Freestyle behind teammate DeDe Woytowych. Bradley defeated St. Louis 163-121.
