The Illinois State basketball stars of today, including seniors Tarise Bryson, Shedrick Ford, Shawn Jeppson, Chad Mazanowski and Randy Rice, will provide the opening act with the annual Red-White Scrimmage, while the stars of yesteryear will close the evening with Legends Classic III, Saturday night at Redbird Arena.
The scrimmage, which is slated to tip-off at 6 p.m., will consist of two halves with a running clock of 20-minutes per period. Head coach Tom Richardson knows that the players, especially the seniors, are looking forward to playing in front of a crowd again.
This will be the first time all season that we will playing in front of the public, Richardson said. The scrimmage gives us an opportunity to evaluate the players with officials and to see if the guys are staying consistent with what were practicing.
Legends Classic III, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will consist of two exhibition games featuring Redbird greats from 1950-79 and 1980-2000. In between the two exhibitions, there will be a slam dunk contest and a three-point shooting contest. Following the events, all the Redbird legends will be available for autographs.
Admission for the evening is $5 per person for both events.
