For the second consecutive week, Illinois State goalkeeper Lynley Hilligoss has been honored as the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Hilligoss, a junior from St. Charles, Ill., faced 17 shots, allowed one goal and had eight acrobatic saves that were instrumental in Illinois States 2-1 victory over Wisconsin last Friday at Adelaide Street Field.
The leading goalkeeper in the Valley, Hilligoss has a goals-against-average of 0.802 with 59 saves and 12 goals allowed in 15 games.
The Redbirds (13-4) enter this weekends Missouri Valley Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed and face Southwest Missouri State at 5 p.m. Friday at SportPort in Maryland Heights, Mo.
