Kendra Haselhorst, the all-time Illinois State leader in blocks and a four-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-District player, will perform for the St. Louis Quest of the United States Professional Volleyball League.
The native of Aviston, Ill. (east of St. Louis) will be joined by former collegiate stars Jenny Manz of Florida, Molly Stark of Notre Dame, Amber Woolsey of Texas A&M and Kelly Campbell of Colorado. Haselhorst was the 2000 Missouri Valley Conference Most Valuable Player and earned all-conference honors three times in her career.
The league begins play Feb. 5 with four teams: Chicago, Rochester, Grand Rapids and St. Louis. The Quest will play its home games at the Washington University Field House.
Haselhorst, slated to earn a degree in art from Illinois State in mid-December, played from 1997-2000 for the Redbirds and finished her career with 482 career blocks. She also was No. 2 in career kills with 1,667 and No. 6 in career service aces with 142.
