Redbird Quarterback Plans to Transfer

Quarterback Dusty Burk announced that he plans to leave Illinois State following the conclusion of the fall semester. The Tuscola, Ill., native appeared in all 11 games for the Redbirds last season, starting in six. Burk finished the season with 1432 yards passing, completing 116-of-204 attempts for 10 touchdowns. Dusty is a terrific young man and we certainly intend to follow the rest his career, head coach Denver Johnson said. We accept his decision and wish him well. Im grateful for all the opportunities at Illinois State and I wish the program the best of luck, Burk said. But at this time, I think it is in my best interest to seek other opportunities.
