After a big weekend at home with wins against Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, the Illinois State mens tennis team travels to Iowa City to compete in matches against Toledo and Iowa Feb. 23 and 24.
Head coach Greg Kennett sees Illinois State on the same level as Iowa.
Iowas No. 1 singles (Tyler Cleveland) is an excellent player who has been ranked in the top 20 in the nation, Kennett said. But Ricky Heath always gives a great match, so well see what happens.
Illinois State also matches up well with Toledo.
They have some strong players who hit the ball very hard, Kennett said.
Brent Steven, who injured his ankle at practice last Friday, will return to the line-up this weekend.
Steven will play doubles against Toledo and singles and doubles against Iowa, Kennett said.
The match against Iowa begins at 1 p.m. Friday while the Toledo match begins at 10 a.m. Saturday in Iowa City, IA.
