The Illinois State mens tennis team dropped its match to Iowa on Saturday in Iowa City for only its second loss of the season.
At No.3 singles senior Yew Ming Si took down Iowas Peter Mandic, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3. At the No. 5 and No. 6 position Albert Piasecki and Thommas de Liefde flew past Pete Rose and David Freijd, 7-5, 7-5 and 6-4, 5-7, 6-1.
Piasecki and de Liefde put on quite a performance and defeated Skogman and Rose 9-7 at the No. 3 position for the only doubles victory. Although the other doubles teams lost, they were tight matches.
The Redbirds take on St. Louis University Sunday March 4 at 2 p.m. at home in the Evergreen Racquet Club.
