Women's Tennis Looks to Make It Four Straight

Riding on the heels of a double-header win last Friday, the Illinois State womens tennis team looks to extend its home winning-streak to four matches when Valparaiso visits Evergreen Racquet Club Friday night at 8 p.m. Valpo comes to town with a two-match losing streak and an overall record of 3-3. The last time the Crusaders met the Redbirds, two season ago, the Birds came out on top, 9-0. Head coach Chris Hoover feels his team is ready for the Valpo challenge after a double-header sweep of Toledo and Northern Illinois last Friday. Physically were pretty close to being solid, but we need to get ourselves together mentally and emotionally, Hoover said. We do have a little momentum coming off our wins last weekend, and every little bit helps. Looking for more stability from the Redbird doubles lineup, Hoover anticipates some changes on the horizon. Weve got a few matches we feel comfortable with so were going to try changing a couple of things, Hoover said. Well try a couple of things and see it goes.
