Women's Tennis Heads to 'Big Easy' for Spring Break

Like many other college students heading towards warmer climates for spring break, the Illinois State womens tennis team heads to New Orleans for their week away from classes. Over the course of their stay, the Redbirds, 7-4, will face Southwest Texas, Louisiana-Lafayette and New Orleans. Were excited to get outside, head coach Chris Hoover said. Well get to face off with some equal competition. Im excited to see how well be outdoors. The road trip marks the end of a five-match homestand, which saw ISU go 4-1. One of Hoovers goals for the trip is to solidify the doubles lineup prior to the start of the conference season. Hopefully by the end of the week well know how the doubles will be for the rest of the season, Hoover said. The Birds face Southwest Texas Tuesday at 10 a.m. before traveling to Lafayette for a showdown with the Ragin Cajuns Thursday afternoon. They return to New Orleans Friday for a 2 p.m. match with New Orleans.
