Redbirds Tied For Ninth After Day One At Stevinson Ranch Invite

The Illinois State mens golf team is tied for ninth place along side with University of Missouri and Iowa State after the first day of competition at the Stevinson Ranch Invitational hosted by the University of Colorado. The Redbird team shot a 626 (314, 312) for the day at the Stevinson Ranch Golf Club. The University of Kansas leads the tournament with a score of 597. Junior Nic Baker leads the team with a score of 154 (77, 77) and is sitting at 24th place, tied with Southwest Missouri States Dusty Wunderlich. B.J. Brown, right behind Baker, shot a 156 (77, 79) and is tied for 30th place. Adam Goldie follows up Brown with a 157 (80, 77) and sits at 36th place in this neck and neck tournament. Rounding out the tournament are senior Dan Cerny, who fired a 159 (80, 79), which puts him in a 44th place tie, and freshman Brian Anderson, who had an overall score of 166 (85, 81), putting him in a tie for 66th place. Final tournament play will resume Tuesday morning with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
