Freshman Albiona Zhubi is in a tie for ninth place after opening round play at the Missouri Valley Conference championship in Ashland, Neb. Zhubi shot an opening round 82, to finish day one at 11-over par.
Teammate Abbe Graceffa shot an opening round 84 and finds herself in a six way tie for 13th place at 13-over par. Reigning Missouri Valley golfer of the week Niucole Foy is in 22nd at 15-over par, and Jill Rachford and Becy Brtva are in 27th and 44th, respectively.
The Redirds as a team sit in seventh out of eight teams, but are still in striking distance just 12 strokes behind tournament leader Bradley.
The Birds continue second round play today at 9 a.m. and will finsih up tommorrw with the third and final round.
