After defeating Southwest Missouri Friday in its first round of play, the Illinois State mens tennis team dropped its match to Drake in the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Team Championships Saturday in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Junior Ricky Heath managed a win against Drakes, Stephan Killian, 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles position who Heath fell to earlier in the season, 6-2, 6-3.
Three singles matches and one doubles match were not completed leaving the match at 3-1, Drake.
The Redbirds will fight for third place against Northern Iowa Sunday who fell to top seed, Indiana State in the semifinals. The match will begin at 12 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
